Stream below Lightmoor Stoneyhill toxic chemical barrel dump site (thousands of barrels from Monsanto Ruabon factory) seems devoid of invertebrates. In low flow, a rainbow sheen is clearly visible in slow flow areas which indicates PAHs. Main flow becomes viscuous. Current testing regime and underdiagnosis of the problem appear questionable. Are chemicals from dump site emerging down hillside following subterranean flow through mineshaft into stream inside the culvert?
